Butterfly Conservation

Dear Nicky

Welcome to Butterfly Conservation

Thank you for joining our All-Aflutter mailing list. It’s great that you want to find out more about Butterfly Conservation. We’ve spent almost 50 years fighting declines and improving the fortunes of butterflies and moths. While we’re busy restoring landscapes across the UK, there are plenty of ways that you can help butterflies and moths in your neighbourhood. Our website is packed with fascinating information and useful resources from the lowdown on our latest projects, to ideas for family fun and fundraising activities.
With so much to chose from we thought we’d help you get started with some of our most popular pages.

Gardening
Just getting started in the garden? Our handy hints for beginners will help you master the basics. Even the smallest outdoor space can attract butterflies. Take part in ‘Plant Pots for Pollinators’ and discover how to make a difference with limited resources, or take on a more ambitious project and transform your garden into a wildlife haven.

Butterflies
Have you seen a butterfly you don’t recognise? Narrow down your list of likely lepidoptera with our user-friendly identification tools. Filter results by colour, size and location to find out what you have spotted.

Moths
Many people think of moths as drab and dreary. You might be surprised to discover just how big, bright and beautiful they can be and how easy it is to track down their colourful caterpillars. Let us introduce you to some of the most common species and help you identify which ones you’ve seen already.
